Alliance News & Updates / About the Alliance
For many years, breeders have worked individually to improve the health, temperament and future of the dachshund. While every breeding program is unique, many of the challenges facing the breed are shared.
The Dachshund Alliance was established on a simple belief: that meaningful progress is achieved when breeders, owners and supporters work together.
Our goal is not to tell breeders how to breed, but to encourage collaboration, education and open discussion around the issues that matter most. Through shared experiences, health initiatives and community participation, we aim to support informed decision-making and promote a culture of transparency.
By bringing together people who care deeply about the breed, we can build a stronger understanding of the challenges we face and the opportunities available to improve long-term outcomes.
Whether through health testing, education, data collection or simply sharing knowledge, every contribution helps build a more complete picture of the breed we all value.
The Alliance exists to encourage these conversations, support responsible practices and help ensure that future generations of dachshunds continue to thrive.
