Welcome to AAShudna Dachshunds website
AAShudna is registered to Heather Coles, located in Penrith NSW (Outer Western Sydney area). Heather currently works in Marketing in the building industry and is also a qualified graphic designer and photographer. A Miniature Dachshund owner her whole life, decided to undertake the challenge of becoming a registered breeder in 2011 after acquiring her chocolate and tan male miniature dachshund BenG from Acovagem, a rural NSW breeder in Grenfel.
Owning a number of miniature dachshunds Heather and the family all view the dachshunds as their 'FUR-KIDS'. Every FUR-KID has their own profile page on this website so feel free to check out each one. All the FUR-KIDS sleep inside at night with doggie door access to the yard. The FUR-KIDS are never kennelled or garaged, they are free to roam the house when the family is home and have been well trained to NOT enter off-limit areas.
Q: Why did you become a registered breeder with Dogs NSW?
A: I was a keen aviculturist for over 15 years. A standing committee member, editor and vice president of a number of avicultural clubs and a federation body. My beloved hobby was turning more and more into a job and that 'spark and passion' I once had was fading. I needed a change and I sometimes feel that so much of that knowledge has been wasted, however, much has also been transferable. I actually had a go at agriculture in particular, registered coloured Alpacas. These lovely animals are not for me, I had to rely on other people to help me and I like to get in there and do things myself, a 75 kilogram marco alpaca is not easy to catch for general health checks or transporting to shows. I had owned mini dachshunds my whole life and had many reservations about dog breeding, the family and myself love many aspects and promise to do right by our pets first.
